Summary of School Improvement Plan 2007 - 2008
The school's senior management team (School Development Team SDT) evaluate the school's performance in the Spring term and identify areas for improvement. The SDT draws up a draft 3 year action plan and a more detailed plan for the next twelve months. This is discussed by the Governors' Standards Committee and a detailed 1 year School Improvement Plan is agreed and shared with staff. The plan details timed targets, staff who will lead areas for development and the necessary resources.
Curriculum
• Key Issue 1: Continue to improve attainment in Maths throughout the school
• Key Issue 2: Raise attainment of boys, especially African Caribbean boys
• Key Issue 3: Incorporate relevant parts of Primary Literacy Strategy
• Key Issue 4: Extend teaching of French throughout the school
• Key Issue 5: Implement SEAL throughout the school (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning)
• Key Issue 6: Improve learning and teaching of ICT
• Key Issue 7: Continue to improve practice in AfL ( Assessment for Learning)
Management
• Key Issue 8: Implement new Performance Management requirements
• Key Issue 9: Continue to support new management structure
• Key Issue 10: Continue to develop inclusive practices and support Progress of SEN pupils
• Key Issue 11: Ensure Every Child Matters outcomes are enshrined in our practice
• Key Issue 12: Consider Eco school accreditation
• Key Issue 13: Audit practice and plan to attain Arts mark by end of 2008/9
• Key Issue 14: Continue to enhance communication between school and parents

• Key Issue 15: Develop top floor into Music and Art rooms
• Key Issue 16: Replace fencing around perimeter walls
• Key Issue 17: Refurbish outside toilets
• Key Issue 18: Refurbish / redecorate two classrooms and one hall
