Summary of School Improvement Plan 2009 - 2010

The school's senior management team (School Development Team SDT) evaluate the school's performance in the Spring term and identify areas for improvement. The SDT draws up a draft 3 year action plan and a more detailed plan for the next twelve months. This is discussed by the Governors' Standards Committee and a detailed 1 year School Improvement Plan is agreed and shared with staff. The plan details timed targets, staff who will lead areas for development and the necessary resources.

Curriculum

• Key Issue 1: Continue to improve attainment in writing throughout the school
• Key Issue 2: Improve attainment in maths throughout the school

• Key Issue 4: Continue to work on Assessment for Learning (AfL) and introduce Assessing Pupil Progress (APP)

• Key Issue 5: Continue to work on Family Learning
• Key Issue 6: Introduce FRONTER (managed learning environment) to the whole school

• Key Issue 7: Plan for a new entrance to the school and reception area
• Key Issue 8: Replace and upgrade ICT resources
• Key Issue 9: Refurbish two classrooms
