St John's and St Clement's Primary School
St John's and St Clement's PTFA stands for Parents, Teachers and Friends Association All parents, teachers and friends of the school are automatically members of the PTFA.
We meet about once every half-term to organise events to both raise funds for the school and provide opportunities for both adults and children to socialize and enjoy themselves.
All parents, teachers and friends are invited to all the meetings, and to volunteer to help organise events. PTFA newsletters and fliers for events are sent out in the book bags. Mrs Gatliffe, Mrs Harding or another teacher also come to meetings, which are quite informal and last for about an hour or so. We hold the meetings on different days and at different times, ie mornings and evenings to enable more parents to attend. The meetings are held on the ground floor, in the classroom next to 1I and we try to provide a crèche for morning meetings. Refreshments are also available!

PTFA newsletters and fliers for events are sent out in the book bags. There is also a PTFA noticeboard in the playground, by the main school gates, containing PTFA minutes, events details, etc.
We organise a range of events throughout the school year. The main events organised so far this year were:
We also have a Privilege Card offering discounts in local shops and a 100 club. We are also affiliated to a webshop. If you link to shops from this page, a percentage of the money you spend goes to the PTFA.
The PTFA funds various initiatives at the school. In addition to contributing towards school trips and incentive stickers, we fund a Christmas Tree to be placed at the entrance to the school.
In the past, we have funded musical instruments and playground improvements including the traversing wall in the reception playground and the "shed" in the junior playground. This year we have, so far, agreed to fund media equipment, keyboards and gardening expenses. We have also been successful in securing a grant to run a wildlife gardening club for pupils after school.
