St John's and St Clement's Primary School

We achieved Healthy School Status in July 2006. The aim of the Healthy School Programme is to deliver real benefits for children and young people, specifically:
The National Healthy Schools Programme has four themes:
The four core themes relate to both the school curriculum and the emotional and physical learning environment in school.

We achieved the ActiveMark in October 2006. Schools are awarded the ActiveMark for top levels of pupil participation in high quality PE and sport within and after school, as well as their wider sports links with local clubs and the community.
We became a member of NAPTA (National Association of Professional Teaching Assistants) in February 2006 for recognition with our work with support staff in our school.
NAPTA is a membership organisation that works with schools, local authorities and other education settings to realise the potential of support staff, whatever their role. It provides its members with a range of specialist services to help individuals develop as professionals and to deliver whole-school improvement. As a result of this we have completed a skills audit to help us to work to everyone's strengths and develop a robust, comprehensive professional development programme. All support staff now have an annual Performance Management interview and a programme of half termly meetings for support staff is in place.
