Relationships and Sex Education Consultation

There are upcoming changes from the DfE for Relationships and Sex Education (RSE). We have been developing our RSE curriculum to ensure it continues to meet the needs of our pupils as well as the new requirements.

We aim to ensure that our RSE curriculum reflects:
• Our school values
• Our pupils’ age and maturity levels, as well as their cultural and religious backgrounds
• What pupils need to know to be healthy and safe in school, in their personal relationships and in the wider world
• Every pupil’s learning needs

We have now updated our RSE policy to reflect this.

Here you will find:
1. Relationships and Sex Education Policy – Draft for September 2020 Relationships and Sex Education Policy DRAFT June 2020
2. RSE Guide for Primary School Parents – RSE primary schools guide for parents
3. RSE Curriculum expectations for primary schools – RSE expectations for primary pupils

We would like your feedback on the proposed policy. Parents can send their views to RSE@sjsc.southwark.sch.uk

The deadline for responding to this consultation is Friday 10th July. If you are unable to view the policy but still wish to participate in the consultation, let us know and we will be in touch to discuss alternative arrangements.
